Rob Piper
for Miami City Commissioner | District 3

Here to serve...
On November 4th, be sure to cast your vote for a life-long public servant, ROB PIPER. My mission is the same as it has been since I retired from the Marines: TO INFORM, ENGAGE, AND EMPOWER VOTERS TO BRING A MORE FAIR, ACCOUNTABLE, TRANSPARENT, RESPONSIVE, EFFICIENT, AND EFFECTIVE GOVERNMENT FOR ALL MIAMI.

Meet ROB
I came to Miami in 2012 after getting assigned to U.S. Marine Corps Forces, South. After retiring in 2016, I felt compelled to continue to serve in a different capacity. After volunteering to inform, engage, and mobilize voters as a grassroots organizer, other volunteers asked me to step up against corruption and lead the TAKE BACK OUR CITY PAC in 2020 (and I did without hesitation). And as a legislative aide in the Florida House in 2023 and a regional field director for an election campaign in 2024, I learned the importance of outreach in underserved communities.
Why I'm running
My entire adult life has been about service, and whether I am on the dais or not, that WILL NOT change. After nearly 10 years of civic service and participation, I realized that these are the foundation of our democracy and a step towards getting corruption out of Miami. I couldn't think of a more perfect manifestation of this than volunteering to run for elected office. And with this campaign, I hope to forge a clearer path for others to follow (because no one should be scared about running for office and serving their community).
My Platform
As your District 3 City Commissioner, I will work to bring you RESPECT:
R - Revenue & affordability (bring more revenue to pay for what residents need)
E - Ethics & transparency (legislation to stop corruption)
S - Sovereignty protection (from State & Federal overreach)
P - Public safety (via a balanced approach)
E - Engagement tools (to make civic participation easier and city government more responsive to the needs of ALL residents)
C - Climate resiliency (to protect residents from the effects of climate change)
T - Traffic calming & transit expansion (make it easier and safer to get around)
My Values
When it's all said and done I hope to bring about a more informed electorate in Miami, where regular Miamians are compelled to engage in greater civic participation, and are empowered to bring about real change in the city to bring safer communities, more freedom, and greater opportunities. Because no one should be confused about how their local government works.
What we are up against . . .
Too many obstacles stand in the way of Miami reaching its full potential. Besides politicians abusing their power, weaponizing their influence to punish perceived enemies, having conflicts of interest, and using their office for personal gain, there are special interests with too much influence on our city politics. In addition, state and national governments have trampled over our municipal sovereignty to the detriment of our residents.
My Vision
When it's all said and done I hope to bring about a more informed electorate in Miami, where regular Miamians are compelled to engage in greater civic participation, and are empowered to bring about real change in the city to bring safer communities, more freedom, and greater opportunities. Because no one should be confused about how their local government works.
